History
Waves was founded in 2014 in the Hampton Roads area as a response to the growing need for consistent youth and family support. From the beginning, our focus has been on creating spaces and opportunities where young people feel seen, supported, and equipped to thrive. Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach through community events, workshops, and hands-on support that reflect the needs of the people we serve.
Mission
Waves exists to uplift and empower youth and families in Hampton Roads. Our mission is to build strong relationships, offer meaningful resources, and connect people with opportunities that create lasting impact. Through our Back to School Drives, educational programming, and community engagement, we work to remove barriers and provide support where it is needed most. Everything we do is grounded in the belief that real change starts locally and grows through partnership, consistency, and care.
